the definition of: A modern approach to Hypnotherapy, cherry picking the best ‘proven’ psychotherapy techniques such as CBT, Counselling, Explanation of the human brain, Neurolinguistics and Metaphors. By keeping the sessions positive, present, and future focused, we can keep the course brief usually 8-10 weeks (standard course) and maintain a higher success rate than other forms of hypnotherapy.
Science Based
Solution-focused hypnotherapy can improve lives in many ways. It is science based and not a ‘dark art’ as some might believe. It helps people young and old overcome anxiety and depression, improve their self-confidence and self-esteem, overcome phobias and addictions and work through trauma. It can also help people achieve their goals and ambitions and improve performance in all areas of life, becoming calmer and getting the absolute very best out of themselves…… It may be life changing for some people or simply just the cherry on the cake. And why would we not want to improve our precious lives yet further?

Milton Erickson is considered the founding father of modern hypnotherapy and developed a form of solution focused hypnotherapy understanding that we all have the capability to solve our own problems, if the focus is positive and away from any negative memories or thoughts.
Steve de Shazer and his wife Insoo Kim Burg further developed this idea to create Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
David Newton, one of the most successful hypnotherapists in the UK, experiencing more than 36000 clinic hours during his career in psychotherapy and hypnotherapy, fine-tuned his practice and became the founding father of ‘Solution focused Hypnotherapy’.
The Association of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH)
In 2009 The Association of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up in the UK to develop and promote this evolving, proven field of psychology, and along with the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) regulate strict Codes of Conduct for all its accredited hypnotherapists.
